Zwigato review: Is Kapil Sharma's new movie worth watching?

Zwigato, starring Kapil Sharma, was finally released in theaters on March 17th (Friday). The talented comedian takes on the lead role in this emotional drama that explores the life of a food delivery boy. Kapil has previously acted in Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon and Firangi, making this his third foray into acting. Despite this, the film failed to captivate audiences.

On its opening day, Nandita Das’s directorial debut got off to a slow start, earning an estimated 0.40 crores. However, Zwigato has garnered attention ever since the official trailer was released, featuring Kapil Sharma’s new persona. The movie’s emotional storyline faced stiff competition from other films released during the same week, including Rani Mukerji’s Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway and Shazam! , Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, a romantic comedy starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, and Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback venture Pathaan, continue to break box office records.

Directed by Nandita Das, Zwigato follows the struggles and hardships of a food delivery boy named Manas, played by Kapil Sharma. The film portrays how the rising demands of food delivery apps and the high cost of living in big cities affect those at the bottom of the social ladder, despite their hard work. The story is set in Bhubaneshwar and revolves around Manas and his wife Pratima, played by Shahana Goswami, as they try to make ends meet during the economic crisis.

Kapil Sharma, known for his humor, successfully sheds his comedic persona and delivers a powerful performance in the dramatic world of the movie. He seamlessly portrays the character of Manas, displaying his versatility as an actor.
