Actress Raveena Tandon recently received the Padma Shri award, one of the highest civilian honors in India, from President Droupadi Murmu. In response to these comments, Raveena has chosen to not give any importance to them, as she feels that they have their own agenda.
In an interview with Mid-Day, Raveena talked about how the comments of a few people with only a handful of followers will not diminish the body of work that she has accomplished. She also mentioned that trolls only see the glamour and not the hard work and long hours that actors put in behind the scenes.
Choosing Projects That Make a Difference to Society
Raveena has been a part of the Indian film industry for over three decades and has acted in numerous movies. She stated that while she loves commercial cinema, she also seeks out projects that will make a difference to society. Her movies, such as Daman, Jaago, and Maatr, have addressed issues such as violence against women and women empowerment.
She chose to work on the film Maatr in 2017 after being deeply affected by the Nirbhaya case. Raveena stated that she felt strongly about the issue and wanted to contribute to creating awareness about it.

After Raveena’s Padma Shri win, her daughter Rasha penned a heartfelt note on Instagram, expressing her pride in her mother’s accomplishments. Raveena’s daughter credited her mother’s humility, grace, and kindness as the inspiration for her and her brother to work harder and be their best selves.
In the coming months, Raveena will be seen in two upcoming films, Ghudchadi and Patna Shukla. Ghudchadi is a romantic-comedy film that features Sanjay Dutt, Parth Samthan, and Khushali Kumar.
