Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who portrayed the character of Mrs. Roshan Sodhi in the popular Indian sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, recently left the show after being part of the cast for fifteen years. However, Jennifer Bansiwal exit from the show was not without controversy. Jennifer made serious allegations of mental and sexual harassment against the show’s producer, Asit Kumarr Modi. Along with accusing the producer, Jennifer also alleged that the show’s project head, Sohail Ramani, and executive producer, Jatin Bajaj, behaved rudely with her.
Asit Kumarr Modi has denied all the allegations against him and has stated that he plans to take legal action against the actress. Jennifer, in an exclusive interview with AajTak, narrated the incidents and claimed that she has filed a case of sexual harassment against producer Asit Modi.
Incidents of Harassment Faced by Jennifer
According to Jennifer, Asit Kumarr Modi tried to take advantage of the situation and made her feel uncomfortable at times. She revealed that from the beginning, Asit would often say, “You are looking very nice.” He even once asked her what she drank, to which she boldly replied whiskey. After this, he repeatedly asked her to come and drink whiskey with him. Although it was meant as a joke, things changed in 2019 when the entire team went to Singapore. During the trip, Asit invited her to come and drink whiskey in his room. Jennifer was surprised to hear this from him. A day later, he said, “You are looking very beautiful, I feel like holding and kissing you.” Hearing this, Jennifer was shaken and felt fearful.
The actress also revealed that she confided in two of her colleagues about these incidents. One of them slammed Asit Modi, while the other tried to protect her in front of him. Jennifer also mentioned that once Asit said, “If you don’t have a room partner at night, come and drink whiskey in my room.” When things did not seem to go his way, he started giving her less screen space.
