The nominations for the 76th Tony Awards have been released

The nominations for the 76th Tony Awards have been released. The actress Lea Michele and Myles Frost, who portrayed Michael Jackson in the Broadway musical “MJ,” announced the nominees on Tuesday. Some categories were announced live on CBS, while others were unveiled on the Tony Awards YouTube page. This year, 38 Broadway shows were eligible for nominations, with the Tony awards ceremony set for June 11th.

The Broadway musical “Some Like It Hot,” an adaptation of the Billy Wilder film, received the most nominations with 13 nods. Following behind are the musicals “& Juliet,” “New York, New York,” and “Shucked,” each with nine nominations. Jodie Comer, star of the television show “Killing Eve,” earned a nomination for best leading actress in a play for “Prima Facie,” marking her stage debut. Justin Cooley, a 19-year-old actor from Kansas, also received a nomination for his Broadway debut in “Kimberly Akimbo.”

To be eligible for a Tony nomination, a Broadway show must have opened between April 29, 2022, and April 27, 2023. The complete list of nominees is given below:
