Learn about the Oppo Find X6 Pro, including its 1-inch sensor and periscopic camera.

The Oppo Find X5 Pro was impressive last year, but Oppo has set the bar even higher with the launch of its successor, the Find X6 Pro. The new flagship device boasts Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, Sony’s IMX989 “1-inch” sensor for the main camera, a 6.82-inch 3,168 x 1,440 AMOLED screen, a 5,000mAh battery, an IP68 ruggedness rating, and up to 16GB of RAM plus 512GB of storage. It also features a periscopic telephoto camera, a feature that was missing in the Find X2 Pro from 2020.

The camera system of Oppo Find X6 Pro has been designed in collaboration with Hasselblad, a well-known camera manufacturer. Oppo X6 three rear cameras, each with a 50-megapixel resolution and optical stabilization, are housed within a large circular island on the back. The upper part of the island contains the main camera, the ultra-wide camera, the LED flash, and the Hasselblad logo, while the periscopic camera with 3x optical zoom or 6x “in-sensor” zoom is located in the lower part of the island.

The new telephoto camera offers up to 6x in-sensor zoom, thanks to the relatively large Sony IMX890 sensor, which still offers a good amount of pixels even when cropped natively. With a pre-release firmware, the camera is capable of capturing impressively clean and sharp shots even at 6x. Meanwhile, the ultra-wide camera uses an IMX890 sensor, which is apparently the largest offering to date in this category.

Oppo Find X6 Pro Battery Life and Charging

The Oppo Find X6 Pro is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, which is now paired with a new 100W SuperVOOC fast charging. It can go from zero to 100-percent charge in just 28 minutes. The device also supports 50W AirVOOC wireless charging, which takes 52 minutes to reach a full charge. Oppo claims to double the battery lifespan with its Battery Health Engine from last year.

Oppo Find X6 Pro Other Features

Apart from the camera and battery, there are other notable features of the Oppo Find X6 Pro. It comes with stereo speakers, and the earpiece has an “Active Privacy Protection for Voice Calls” design that reduces audio leakage to make eavesdropping on calls less likely. The device also has an infrared remote control, which can be used to control TVs, air conditioners, and lights.

Oppo Find X6 Pro Design and Availability

The Oppo Find X6 Pro has arguably the largest external redesign since the Find X3 Pro. It will be available in China from March 24th in three design options: dual-tone brown (glass plus vegan leather), black (glass), and green (glass). Prices range from 5,999 yuan or about $873 (12GB RAM with 256GB storage) to 6,999 yuan or about $1,018 (16GB RAM with 512GB storage).

There is also a more affordable version of the device, the Find X6, which swaps out the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9200. It has a 4,800mAh battery with 80W fast charging and an IP64 ruggedness rating. However, its main camera uses an IMX890 instead of the 1-inch IMX989, while its ultra-wide camera uses a Samsung JN1 sensor and lacks a freeform lens.

Conclusion

The Oppo Find X6 Pro is a flagship device that offers impressive features, including
