Ram Charan, who turned 38 on March 27, 2023, had confidently taken on the pressure of remaking the iconic Bollywood film Zanjeer in 2013. The remake was directed by Apoorva Lakhia and starred Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Dutt, Prakash Raj, Atul Kulkarni, and Mahie Gill. However, he has not appeared in any other Hindi films since then, although he is said to have a special cameo in Salman Khan’s upcoming film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.
In an interview in 2013, Ram spoke about his Bollywood debut with Zanjeer and how a big star in Bollywood had warned him about taking on the film due to the pressure it carries. However, Ram confidently replied that he was born to handle pressure and had been accustomed to people telling him that he had to fill his father’s shoes.
Ram was last seen in the Telugu film RRR, which won an Oscar in 2022. He travelled to the US earlier this year to promote the film during awards season and attended the Oscars ceremony with his wife Upasana Konidela. The couple also announced in December 2022 that they were expecting their first child this year.
Currently, Ram Charan is filming for his next film, tentatively titled RC 15, with director Shankar. This will be their first collaboration in a Telugu film, and Ram will star opposite Kiara Advani in the action film.
